How to use YouTube For Action
You can now add boost the performance of your YouTube campaigns with direct actions
like 'Buy Now".
For the longest time, YouTube was only really used for branding by multi-nationals and other huge companies, but in recent months Google has made some fairly important changes – they have launched YouTube for action!
This major change is aimed at making the whole YouTube platform easier for everyone to run successful and more appealing campaigns. The impact for large companies with huge budgets and armies of media managers is obvious, but it’s the impact it could have on a small business that is appealing.
The big change is that you can now drive direct actions from YouTube!
As you can see in the screenshot, I chose to use ‘Buy Now’ call to action for an eCommerce company but there is no limit to the options. A restaurant may use a campaign running on the weekends for “book a table” or a taxi company might want a campaign that only runs when it’s raining and has the call to action “Book a Car Now”. There isn’t really a limit to the options.
“That’s nice, but video production is still expensive.”
The most common barrier to YouTube advertising was always video production itself, but this has recently become more and more doable. In 2020 there are multiple options for getting a professional video onto YouTube. The three suggested methods for a small business wanting to run on YouTube but not wanting to incur the cost of a video shoot are:
• Stock video with text overlay
• Animated videos made with online tools (this is super easy and fun)
• Converting a series of images into a video via Photoshop
Any of the above options will work but make sure you chose the one that can best represent your brand. If you have any questions, please contact the team here and we will be happy to offer an opinion. Once you have all your video assets sorted, get online, and drive table bookings, downloads, online sales, or any other action you care to direct with YouTube for Action.
